Meta announced agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo designed to support up to 6.6 GW of combined existing and new nuclear capacity across the United States by 2035. Resulting from a competitive nuclear request for proposals, the power will feed regional transmission networks that serve the company's AI facilities, including its Prometheus supercluster in New Albany, Ohio.

The 6.6 GW headline figure combines existing generating assets with long-lead development projects. Its operating-plant component comes from 20-year agreements with Vistra. Meta contracted for more than 2.1 GW of existing baseload power from two operational plants in Ohio—Perry and Davis-Besse. Meta will also fund reactor uprates across Perry, Davis-Besse, and Pennsylvania's Beaver Valley facility. Those modifications are expected to add 433 MW of new capacity to the PJM grid in the early 2030s.

The remainder of the 2035 target depends on unbuilt advanced reactor deployments that must clear licensing, supply-chain, and construction milestones:

  • Oklo: Meta is supporting early development and procurement for an advanced nuclear campus in Pike County, Ohio. Planned around multiple Aurora Powerhouse fast-fission reactors, the site is targeted to enter service as early as 2030 and supply up to 1.2 GW into PJM. Oklo claims the units will run on fresh or repurposed fuel.
  • TerraPower: The deal funds development work for two initial Natrium sodium-cooled fast reactors delivering up to 690 MW, with delivery targeted as early as 2032. Meta also secured options for up to six additional units producing 2.1 GW by 2035. If all eight units materialize, the project would total 2.8 GW of baseload nuclear generation paired with 1.2 GW of built-in energy storage.

For engineering and compute planning teams, the deals establish that near-term nuclear supply relies on existing commercial generation in PJM, whereas advanced small-reactor technologies represent 2030s capacity subject to regulatory and commercial execution.
