Workload Division Across Multimodal and Engineering Tasks

Xiaomi divides core tasks between two foundation models:

  • mimo-v2.5 serves as a native multimodal model that ingests visual, audio, and text data simultaneously while supporting context lengths up to one million tokens. Xiaomi reports that the base model lowers API costs by roughly 50% compared to mimo-v2-pro and exceeds mimo-v2-omni across multimodal benchmarks including VideoMME, CharXiv, and MMMU-Pro.
  • mimo-v2.5-pro targets multi-step software engineering and complex reasoning. Xiaomi claims internal testing demonstrated the model can sustain single-instance runs spanning nearly 1,000 tool calls while maintaining logical consistency and implicit instruction following.

In internal benchmarks cited by the company, mimo-v2.5-pro authored a complete Rust-based SysY compiler in 4.3 hours across 672 tool calls, passing all 233 hidden tests after development; its first compilation passed 137 of 233 tests, or about 59%. In a second autonomous demonstration, Xiaomi stated the model generated an 8,192-line web video editor featuring timeline editing and audio mixing in 11.5 hours through 1,868 tool invocations. The announcement did not include independent external validation for these demonstrations or benchmark scores.

Token Plan Rates and Access Terms

Alongside the release, Xiaomi updated its Token Plan credit structure to eliminate historical price premiums for larger context windows:

  • mimo-v2.5-pro is billed at 2 credits per token, replacing an earlier 4-credit tier.
  • Pricing no longer differentiates between 256,000-token and 1,000,000-token context windows.
  • Requests run daily between 00:00 and 08:00 Beijing Time receive an automatic 20% credit consumption discount.
  • New continuous monthly auto-renewal options provide a one-time discount of 30% for existing subscribers or 23% for new users on the following month. Annual subscriptions provide a standalone 12% discount.

Xiaomi also introduced an integration with the Hermes Agent framework with a two-week free trial window, while noting plans to open-source the MiMo-V2.5 series models.
