Agility Robotics has opened a 60,000-square-foot facility in Fremont, California, designated as its engineering center for Physical AI software. The site provides dedicated space for engineering teams to train, test, and expand capabilities for the company's humanoid robot, Digit, as it targets enterprise logistics and manufacturing environments.
Engineering Hub Paired with Oregon Production
The Fremont location concentrates on software iteration rather than hardware assembly. Agility manufactures Digit at its RoboFab facility in Salem, Oregon. The new Silicon Valley hub is tasked with advancing the AI models that govern Digit's manipulation, movement, and autonomous task execution.
Agility stated it plans to hire nearly 200 workers at the Fremont site across AI/ML software engineering, AI/ML research, and field operations. According to the company, these teams will focus on developing capabilities for repetitive, physically demanding tasks where robots work alongside human staff.
Enterprise Deployments and Order Pipeline
The expansion is positioned to support active field deployments and incoming commercial commitments. Agility reported active customer deployments with Schaeffler, GXO, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, and Mercado Libre.
The company also claimed a pipeline of more than 30 prospective enterprise clients and reported securing over $300 million in multi-year orders for Digit v5. Agility noted that these orders remain subject to contractual milestones rather than representing upfront or guaranteed deliveries. The expansion comes alongside a proposed public listing through a planned merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI (CCXI), which remains subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
